Mustard Greens with cheese
Here is the second dish i prepared "Hoentsey Datsi". I think, i was a little too ambitious to cook two varieties of dishes out of the smallest harvest of my home grown mustard greens.
No regrets. It was a relish, although i did wish i had more of it :(.
Bok choy, Chard, and Spinach makes a good substitute.
Ingredients:
200 gr. Mustard greens ( i used 70 gr., small harvest :()
2 medium Tomatoes
1 onion
5 chillies (optional)
50 ml water
1 slice of processed cheese
25-30 gr. feta cheese
salt to taste
1.Rinse the vegetables. Cut the tomato, onion and chillies (lengthwise) into slices. Tear the mustard greens coarsely into quarter (lengthwise) as shown in the picture.
2.Heat oil in a pan, throw in onions and sweat them for 3 minutes until they turn slightly brown. Add tomatoes, chillies, mustard greens, water, cheese and sprinkle in salt. Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts and the mustard greens are crunchy.
3. Lower the heat to minimum, stir gently and mix well to combine the ingredients. Serve with rice or as desired.
